Noah’s Ark according to Claude Lafortune
25 May 2023 - 17 March 2024
From May 25, 2023, to March 17, 2024, the Marguerite-Bourgeoys Historical Site presents a new captivating exhibition for the whole family. For the first time in Montreal, the latest major works produced by television host and paper sculptor Claude Lafortune, who sadly passed away due to COVID-19 in April 2020 at the age of 84, are shown.
Titled “Noah’s Ark According to Claude Lafortune,” the exhibition approaches the myth of the deluge in a poetic, playful, and engaging manner. Reflecting on the significant questions raised by this legendary tale. Claude Lafortune created impressive paper sculptures of animals and the five central characters of this two-millennia-old story. Sculptures representing Noah’s Ark from the collection of the Charlevoix Museum are integrated into the exhibition.
