Noah’s Ark according to Claude Lafortune

25 May 2023 - 17 April 2024

From May 25, 2023 to March 17, 2024, the Marguerite-Bourgeoys Historic Site presents a captivating new exhibition for the whole family. This is the first presentation in Montreal of the last major works produced by television host and paper sculptor Claude Lafortune, who died of Covid in April 2020 at the age of 84.

Entitled Noah’s Ark according to Claude Lafortune, the exhibition takes a poetic, playful and engaging approach to the flood myth. Reflecting on the major issues raised by this legendary story, Claude Lafortune has created impressive paper animal sculptures as well as the five central characters of this two-thousand-year-old story. Sculptures representing Noah’s Ark from the Musée de Charlevoix collection are integrated into the exhibition.
