Liturgical Events

Weekly English masses at Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours chapel take place on Sundays, at 4 p.m., from May 15 to October 15.

 

The Midnight Mass for the Nativity of the Lord will take place on December 24, 2024, at 19:00. It will be preceded by a Christmas music concert at 18:15. This celebration will be presided over by Guy Chapdelaine.

Tickets, priced at $10, are available now at the Museum’s boutique or by phone at 514-282-8670, extension 221. Admission is free for children under 12.

 

The Christmas Morning Mass for the Nativity of the Lord will be held on December 25, 2024, at 10:30. This celebration will be presided over by Gilbert Dubé.

 

The Feast of Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys will be celebrated on Sunday, January 12, at 13:30, commemorating the anniversary of her passing. This celebration, presided over by Gilles Mongeau, will be preceded by a musical interlude at 13:10, featuring Maria Gajraj on the organ accompanied by a vocal trio of singers.

End of life celebrations

The loss of a loved one is undoubtedly one of the most difficult experiences to go through.   The pastoral care service of Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel offers its services to help you through this difficult time.

We offer different types of celebrations in order to tailor them to the life experiences of the deceased, to those around him or her, and for the well-being of all.

• Traditional Catholic funeral with or without communion in the presence of the body or ashes;
• Commemorative Mass in memory of the deceased with a final farewell at the end of the celebration in the presence of the body or ashes;
• Liturgy of the Word led by a lay person or by a priest, with photos or mementos present;
• Lay celebration of the end of life in the chapel or vault with the possibility of readings of various texts, poems, songs, music and testimonies of life.

It is also possible for you to welcome your visitors to receive condolences before the celebration of your choice.  Our services are available in French or English. We have a full liturgical team, including an experienced organist and singers to meet your needs for the celebration.

Celebrating your love

There are many occasions in life when we like to celebrate a couple's love. Whether it's at the very beginning of a relationship, a wedding or the anniversaries that follow.  What better way to celebrate these moments in our lives than to do so in God's presence and to give thanks? The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours pastoral care service offers you its services to accompany you on these occasions.

We offer different types of celebrations, which can be tailored to the wishes of those present. You could combine the celebration with a guided tour of the chapel and a self-guided tour of the Marguerite Bourgeoys Historical Site. **

• Engagements.
• Catholic weddings in the chapel for residents of the Old Port and those attending weekend masses.
• Civil union in the vault.
• Blessing of a couple during a mass or liturgy of the Word.
• Wedding anniversaries.

It is also possible for you to welcome your visitors for a reception in the vault following the celebration.  The rental department will be happy to assist you. *
